Graphical problem

So I installed my new 9800 GT and Windows 7 installs it automatically. Now I saw my car was getting hot (About 64C during gaming session) and I wa sgetting worried that the drivers were not updated properly. So I went to Nvidias website and installed it manually.

Now as you see from the video I posted, thats the result of it being updated. I do not know what else the problem is. I uninstalled and installed it correctly, and the results come out the same.

Any assistance would be great! Thank you!

P.S. my card is not dying out, I tested it out on my brothers computer and it works just as fine.

Do you have adequate cooling in your case? Cause it sounds like your card is overheating.

Yes I do, my card goes about 45-50 C in idle and about 55-65 C while gaming. I try to increase the fan speed, but I hear this very annoying and weird noises from the card, kinda like a very rapid clicking noise.

But guys, in the video the card begins to glitch and artifact.

I also wana guess driver issues. I know both the latest nVidia and ATI arivers have been buggy lately.

Especially since he said it worked fine before he updated the drivers. I'd try wiping the current drivers off your system, maybe even use driver sweeper since you've had some problems with the current ones, and install an older version until you find a properly working version. If you can't, at least that will rule out the software problem, but again, since the card worked fine pre-update, I have no reason to believe the card itself is faulty.

hey guys

i have 9800 GT and i have the same problem i havent overclocked the card at all since day one i have the lattest nvidia drivers but the problem im having is the same as in this video artifacts one day it acted up as bad as stated in that video that was posted on youtube i was playing guildwars at the time so its not my card cuz my card isnt overheating i have the xfx 9800 GT and it dont be overheating while im ingame but at random it gives me artifacts i tried older drivers and had same problem so im hoping they release new ones that cure it i dont get artifacts right away but randomly while im in game i get them for awhile while im on guildwars then after i go to desktop its shows the desktop fine just ingame gets artifacts at random times so it could be the drivers are buggy but i just hope it doesnt ruiin my card :(

1: Take a breath. Use punctuation. That was hell to read.
2: How far back did you go for older drivers?

january 2010 and i went further then that when i first had windows 7 get the update for the card when i didnt have it connected to the web at the time and it still had the same problem.

And whatever driver i had b4 i updated to the lattest it was 160. i think or something or 190 something.

the other day i got artifacts again and this time it was pretty bad it seems to happen at random. i could be playing game an then it shows artifacts but as it does it it gets worse sometimes.

at least it gets worse til i decide to close the guildwars game out and reopen it or close whatever im playing out and reopen it
