Graphics card hangs at high CPU speed

Hi guys, I recently changed my Athlon 1800 XP CPU for an Athlon Barton 3000+ CPU. At the highest speed of 2.2Ghz, the graphics card will not operate.

This might mean an easy answer for some of you, but I'm no expert so I need your help.

The motherboard used is an asus A7V8x-x and the graphics card is an ATI radeon 9000 pro.

Thanks!

The problem is a lack of (or nonfunctioning) AGP/PCI lock ... of course i didnt have a problem working at 2.2GHz in my AthlonXP days but it could just be the card was more capable of handling out of spec speeds.

Try another card to see if it works. It must be more newer than your card that you posess. Have you tried putting back your old CPU to see if it would work?
