Welcome to the forum Ataraxy!

The 9800GTX will work in your machine provided you have a decent enough power supply. I can't tell from the pictures what your current PSU is rated at.

What GPU are you upgrading from? The 9800GTX isn't a bad card, but it isn't top of the line by today's standards. For just a few pounds more you can get much better hardware now. That being said, you can run many current games on max settings with the 9800, but you will suffer in regards to frame rates.

What CPU do you have in that machine? That will be another factor in determining how well your new card will behave.

Got it. Thanks!

The maximum wattage should be listed on the large sticker on the side of the PSU. The photo was a bit too blurry to make it out.

350W

It isn't enough, and probably won't even have the necessary 6 pin PCIe connector

Get the power supply before you put the video card in, otherwise it will either not booting because it won't be able to provide enough power, or it will end up blowing because of being under too much load, and then it can take out other components along with it. Make sure you get a good brand power supply when you get one too, because of how catastrophic a power supply failure can be, it isn't worth risking your entire system just to save a bit of money.

the card will be able to run most games on full, but some of the more demanding ones, not it won't, but even then it will be medium - high settings

Aw okay so is it easy changing power supply :S? And how much do they cost?

To change the power supply, take all of the wires out (1 in each hard drive and optical drive, 1 large 20 or 24 pin in the motherboard, 1 4 pin or 8 pin in motherboard), unscrew the power supply and slide it out.

Slide the new power supply back into the spot and screw it in, plug the wires in and you are done. It is always a good idea to try and get some cable management going on, meaning if there is room behind the motherbaord and back cover of the case, run the wires down there so they aren't in the main part of the case. This allow better airflow, so lower temps inside, aswell as making it easier to work in.

What would your budget be, and what currecny are you working in?
