ok so i have a hp pavilion p6510y
specs:
AMD Athlon II x4 630 / 2.8 GHz (quad core)
4gb ram

i want a new grapics card:

will this work with my computer, also will i need to buy a new power supply?

That card doesn't draw much power , im running a loaded rig with a 5970 ati on 525watt power supply, so i`m sure you can safely go for it

What is the main use?
Why do you need 2GB?
1GB version should work

That card only uses 40W at peak...your PSU should handle it. Bestec PSU's are pretty cheap, though...you'd be hard pressed to find a worse unit.

Your system will probably use ~225W at max use on everything, with that card in. If your PSU is rated at anything less than 350W then it will probably fail. Cheap PSU's can't deliver their rated power.

If you want an upgrade, this is a hell of a deal...$30 after the mail in rebate, for a good 600W unit:
