Graphics card not recognized?

Hi I just finished building my computer and have finally got everything installed but when I go to run a steam game it crashes after the first few seconds. My graphics card is a raedon 6870. Also, on my computer rating, microsoft has rated the ability to play 3d games a 1. I have downloaded the latest drivers but it still doesn't seem to work. Please help!

Need a few questions answered here.

What are you system specs and what power supply are you using?

Also are all drivers installed properly? look in device manager for any devices still needing drivers.
