Graphics Card Overheating Temps?

What temperature do graphics cards normally overheat in lets say im getting a 8800 gt what temp will taht overheat in?

Most graphic cards have a "boiling point" of around 125*c (give or take). Thats when permanent damage is possible, or expected. Temperatures beneath this point can still cause problems, artifacting, shut-downs etc.. these temps differ from card to card.

The 8800gt can go up to 80*c or alittle more and it can be considered normal. 90*c might be a bit too high, 100*c, definitely consider aftermarket cooling, or some better thermal paste. ( I don't have a 8800gt, maybe some dudes who do can pipe in)

Without trying to take the focus off compasky's question, my graphics card was around 80*C when it was overclocked and I was playing CS source (very high room temperature). Around this time Source kept on becoming non-responsive, I reduced the clock to default, but do you think it was caused by overheating or just Source playing up? It started working properly after a reboot, but the temperature hasn't been that high since. It is an ATI HD2600 XT. It wasn't much of an overclock anyway, 800 core to 840 and memory from 700 to 775.

Overheating. That it hasn't been acting up, and temperature has remained nominal in that period seal the deal. Ambient temperature is a bitch, huh? (except when it's cold :D)

actually, the room temperature was really high because i hadn't really noticed how hot it was getting because I was playing, wierd how you can just zone out like that. I turned on the air conditioning afterwards. I should probably get some case fans since both my CPU and GPU are overclocked, even if they are quite small overclocks

Edit: Well my card's an ATI so I use ATI-Tool to monitor temperature

Are there anyway to cool a 6200 i OC from 350- 450 and 400-506 but temp gets to around 50C and i make my computer unstable not alot but i notice the PC slowdown when running apps that use the graphic card such as videos, and games... like AOE3...
