Graphics Card Questions

ok. Heres the deal. I heard it was possible to use 2 graphics cards and i have some questions...
1) is it possible to have 2 cards without using 2 monitors
2) also if you CAN have 2 cards, do you use bothe of them and so e.g if u had 2 128mb cards would it make 256mb power

(1) its possible to 2 - 4 monitors on a dual card setup
(2) you can run 2 cards as one, this is called SLI for Nvidia cards and Crossfire for ATI cards. however, this doesn't mean that that it doubles up your graphics memory as each card needs that information for itself and cant transfer between the cards; which is why two 128Mb graphics cards are still only 128Mb
