Hi I'm using a Sapphire Radeon 6950 2GB, I need a better card, I have like 300-500$ to blow but I want it to be worth it :P..

lower priced is better if I will see at least a 20 FPS increase in most games i'd be happy, I don't even play a high end game and its really the only game I play it's just in beta and I heard that nvidia runs it much better at the moment.

can you recommend a card for me here on this site please

thank you

A gtx670 would be great but provided a good mobo and cpu id go for a second 6950 2gb. And really with the latest drivers id go for a 7900 series

my bad it is HD 6950 2gb, And I was going to try to unlock it to a 6970 and overclock it instead but I tried looking for the switch and I couldnt find it lol I guess I have to take it out of the case to really see?

And Jonny remember you told me your computer runs smite 60 fps at max settings do you play smite alot? was that in a 5v5 I find that in big fights on max settings my frames will drop to like 30-40 ish and its a pain for me, did you overclock your phenom? I don't understand how I'm supposed to know if its my cpu or gpu giving me the problem.

I keep asking you guys questions I just can't make up my mind if its worth me just switching to either a better graphics card and possibly a better amd cpu OR simply just getting a intel i7 and a z77 motherboard and hope that it will fit the rest I have in my computer which one would really effect my FPS?

also @SmileMan I ran that benchmark and I got 974 with my AMD Phenom II x6 1055t at stock.. Ill post pics later need to redo test though

Only ever OC to 3.2 and 3.3 so not much there, and the 470 is weaker than a 6870 and has less ram than yours. Do you have the latest drivers? And yeah that was in 5v5s where the lowest i've seen it hold is like mid to low 50's, might'a dropped to mid 40's a couple times for like a millisecond, but remember that i'm running 1280*960.

I checked device manager and said they were updated, I know for sure I updated my gpu recently hmm is there something else I should try?

also look at this card http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=43_557_559&item_id=052966

it looks so good for the price am I wrong?

I read about bottle necking so I was wondering if I Did get like a 400$ graphics card if my cpu would have problems

also i've read that the other AMD cpus I won't see very much a performance boost if I were to change.. so it kinda leaves me pointing at intel but I don't want too if I don't have too, I think I need to figure out how to overclock my cpu without destroying it haha.

Check anandtech for performance comparisons, price seems ok, not gonna look around right now (on ipad). But the new fx processors that came out earlier this week are good, there's an article on anandtech to see if you want if your mobo supports am3+.

and just go to amd's site for the drivers, it can take microsoft a while to update iirc.

ok thanks I tried finding the driver for my processor on there site but I just get a error searching for the drivers lmao.. I'll try later.

if you can help me out later if your not busy would be awesome thanks again

Thanks bro!

But really, go for that new fx8350/8320. They perform well in games, much improvement there. If you have a compatible mobo though.

The 1055 is clocked kinda low. What motherboard do you have?

I have this motherboard Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 Socket AM3+ AMD 990FX+SB950 chipset Dual-Channel DDR32000(O.C.)

can this motherboard use the new amd processors?, I was told though.. that they were seriously not much better then what I have currently, thats why I was sad and figured I have no other choice but to go for the intel processors and switch motherboards :(

That's a great mobo and the brand new fx processors that came out on Tuesday are better and would probably be worth it.
