Hiya,
Ive had a look (and search) through the forum, but I cant find out how to upgrade a laptops graphics card?

I think my laptop has 16MB shared, but thats not enough to run Vista Aero, is there a PCMCIA card or something else to upgrade a laptop?

Its a Tiny, Mobile Athlon 64 Processor 3000+ 1.80 GHz, 1GB RAM, 70GB HDD running Vista Premium.

Or do you have to buy a new laptop?

are you sure its 16mb? thats nothing... lol

and no you probably cant update it, only really new laptops with cards such as the geforce go 6 or 7 series have upgradeable cards.

Oh well, thanx for the input...

It could have 64MD shared, Im just not sure where on the system you find out..

Lone :-)

go control panel, double click System.

under Hardware tab click on Device Manager.

Click on the plus (+) sign to the left of Display Adapters
your Graphic Card should be in there...

If your laptop is currently only using 16MB, DON'T ADD TO IT :P You'll just loose more of your system RAM and won't get any performance increase(or next to none)

Even if it was 256MB, it would work, because if you want to use Aero and Vista's 3D effects, you need a DX9 card.
