my motherboard is a ASRock FM2A88X Extreme4+ and i have a radeon r7 250 asus and a amd a8 7600 processor. everytime i install the driver from the disk it goes to a black screen and does nothing. same when i use the driver from the website. the graphics are distorted in both the bios and operating system. my computer does not detect my graphics card in device manager. i am thinkin that since this is happening in the bios that its a bios issue. my bios is 2.30 the latest version

If the bios is distorted then you have an issue with the video card or bad ram. The bios should be clear as day.

That doesn't look distorted to me. Right click on the microsoft basic display and click on properties, click on the details tab, change the property to hardware ID and give me the 4 digit vendor and device ID numbers. I need the 4 digits after ven and dev.

not sure why the screenshot comes out just fine for. doesn't seem to have a problem with extended display for my laptop. sorry i updated my post.

not sure which numbers you want. i see like 4 different options.

i already did that. the one i downloaded was newer. i went and selected the one for the a8 7600 processor and had a december release date. there was no difference and it goes black right in the middle if i use that or the disk version.

I would suggest the VGA cable in the laptop is kaput. If you move the screen on the hinge, does that help?

Do you have any settings on in BIOS that over clocks the card in anyway or something else perhaps? That's all I could think of other than a bad card.

The reason I say that it could be a bad card is because Device Manager isn't even picking the card up. You had no problems installing the chipset drivers, etc?

What happens when you remove the GPU and just use integrated GPU on the MOBO?

You are using the power connector for the GPU, correct? Actually, not sure if this card has a power connector because I can't see one in the images on Newegg. This card needs a minimum of a 400 watt PSU though.

have not done anything with the chipset. have not done anything with overclocking. i tried taking it out once. and put it back in. this card does not have a power connector.
