Hey, ive been playing cod2 for quite some time now and today i started playing once more a couple minutes ago. Everything loaded up fine but once i got to the game there was squares missing and all these weird lines. After i closed cod2 is was on my desktop as well....i then ran quake 4 and it was perfect and fixed my dekstop, so im guessing the problem has to do with cod2.

overheating ? because im playing on everything max graphics?
Also this is after 2 hours of not playing, i changed the one setting in cod2 and it ran perfectly from there..

O i just discovered it only does this when my settings are all on EXTRA...it happens before i even get into the game, so it cannot be a overheating issue.

Edit: Now i just played BF2 and i got artifacts as well....i touched my video card, seemed hot but i could keep my hand on it forever without getting burnt. Im guessing it could possible be the new BIOS i installed..its a BETA 1.08 or somthing. Is there anyway to dowgrade my BIOS?

i think your card is overheating too. ( well, the Ram on the card )
have you overclocked it?

no he didnt OC it,

video memory has something to do with that, (overheating, faulty)

i was getting artifacts with my card too, but when i flashed my video card bios it was all fine

Alright, so i got ATI Tool and ran the check for artifacts test. I let it run for 10 minutes all on stock speeds(i never oc'ed the card) and i watched the temps rise. Here is a screenie of the test. Temps seem alright for a 10 min test?

where do you get ati tool. i think i my videocard is overheating cause when i touch it my fingers get burned in a few seconds. and i sometimes get artifacting after i play some games.

why does it say the videocard you selected for overclocking in ATItool does not seem to be used by windows.

visual testing has been disabled

to fix this go to display properties, settings and enable the monitor output of the card.

it says that when i click on find max core, find max mem and scan for artifacts. i tried to find it in settings but couldnt. does anybody know where its at.

I just realized that those were my temps when my card's fan speeds are at 31%. Does that sound normal then?
