Great Deal, I think so!

It is a great card. Whether it is a good deal or not, I cannot say. I am not to up on canadian prices :P

according to gocurrency.com... the price of that card in USD is $282.57... and on newegg.com you could get the X1900GT for $200 and probably overclock it to those specs, so i'd say it's not that great of a deal...

EDIT: but i'm not a video card guru, so don't take my word for it...

You have to think about in general prices on canadian sites :P As well, the X1900GT can't be just overclocked to X1900XT specs, you have to unlock it as well, which probably is impossible.

I do think it is a good deal though, considering that X1900XTs are $275+

well i made that assumption from thinking you could... i added that i'm no video card guru and i just thought it sounded like it could be done... having heard that it can't be, i agree with you that it ain't a bad deal...

Well, can someone maybe find me a better deal on a Canadian site?

The X1900XT, according to gamespots video card roundup for 2006 is the best card on the market without getting into Crossfire/SLI or the $400 price range.

Unless someone could find me a Radeon X1900XTX for around $350, that would be my price limit.

if you want the X1900XT... i'd stick with that... it will play the newest games atleast on medium settings, if not high... it will work fine...

If i can play the latest (HL2: Ep. 1, FEAR, BF2) at the highest settings, then he can too. I would get the 1900XT, it kicks some major butt.

well see... i've said so many times in this thread that i'm no video card guru... i said it would at least play them on medium, i never said they couldn't be played on high...

K thanks I think I'll go for it, and I'm pretty sure Sapphire is a better brand than HIS
Plus I don't have to pay for shipping, that sites from a Calgary store.
