Great value PSUs!

From my experience with Ultra, they are very good. The only problem I had was with the cables. They were very thick and didn't like to bend much, but that was fixed when they decided to release Flex Force 2 cables.

And about Fry's. I've never used their site because their store is about 5 minutes away, but their prices are the best I've seen. Antec 500 watt smartpower for $15 = WIN! And their newly released games are $10 cheaper than everywhere else, excluding some really big name titles. Of course, Fry's has a dark side according to some employees. Such as having to have at least 1 person sign up for a Fry's card every week, but if you don't you are either fired or moved to another position...but that's a different story...

Ultra are a mixed bag. Some of their higher end units, such as the X2s and upcoming X3s are quite good, while the Youngyear OEM'd models are pretty terrible. Don't forget that this is one of their budget units. It is a Wintech unit at least, but a low end Wintech. Neither the voltage regulation or efficiency are great, and the performance under crossloading is worse.

Even at $40 there are far better PSUs available. For free, though, I wouldn't complain, and it would certainly be fine for a lowend/second PC or backup PSU.

Damn that antec is nice, I have it.

I bought it for 99.99 on sale from newegg, thats a good deal.

edit: I wish I had a few extra bucks to order some for my next build.
