GTA classic

i once owned the original gta game and completed it. i recently downloaded the GTA classic game from the rockstar website cos i wanted to do a bit of classic gaming.
however, upon starting it the game was very jerky, this isn't what i expected considering the specs of the game are so very low.
also, this game has been slightly reworked to work on modern systems... anyone have any ideas on how to pick the framerate up to a more consistent level?

Maybe try running it under Compatibility mode? I can get Prince of Persia Sands of Time to work even though the doesn't support my card. I just have to use 3DAnalyze and run both the program and game in compatibility mode, Win98.

i'll give that a try later... i never even thought of it either

Compatibility mode can do wonders, sometimes. Some games give me a slight boost in fps and some games work slower.

if figured it out, when i was playing the game i noticed that the squeal of the tires out be high-pitched and then go to its normal pitch... i dropped the hardware acceleration down to emulation and everything started to work fine
