Gtx 250

I have been shopping around for a video card recently and I was looking at either a 9800GTX or a GTX 260. Then I saw the GTX 250. How does it stack up performance wise? I can get it for around the same price as a 9800 GTX but the GTX 260 costs more than both.

I just noticed this:

http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=36894&vpn=GS250XYDFC&manufacture=XFX&promoid=1060

so would it be worth the money for a 9800 GTX ($190) or a GTX 260 core 216 ($220)?

First off, there's no such thing as a GTX250.

It's a GTS250, which is exactly the same card as a 9800GTX+, just with an
updated BIOS and single power input.

The GTX260 will perform a bit better than the GTS250 but you'd be fine with either card.

I bought the GTS 250 and it came in yesterday. I haven't tried it out on any games yet, and I can't compare it to other cards since this is my first up-to-date card, so I can't really say anything about it performance wise. What I can say is I've seen a couple of benchmarks and the GTS is the same as the 9800GTX+, except (I think) SLIGHTLY better, by whatever measurement I saw on the benchmarks; and what I mean by slight is miniscule. If you can afford the GTX 260, I'd suggest getting that.

The GTS250 is a 9800GTX+.

They updated the BIOS on the card and changed the power configuration
and made the card a bit shorter and Renamed it a GTS250. It's the same
exact card.

That said, the 9800GTX+ was about the best card for gaming before the
GTX series came out, so needless to say a GTX260 is going to outperform
a GTS250 (9800GTX+)

I was thinking of getting a gts 250 but if its only a 9800gtx+,But i dunno Its not enough of an upgrade for me.

The GTS 250 is still a 256bit card.

The GTX 260 is a 448bit card.

You will notice a significant performance increase with the 260.
