Was wondering if it would beat a 4870 1GB for $20 cheaper, does anyone have benchmarks for a 4870 1GB? I need to decide on a new card before the new line comes out :(.

Sig has 4870 1GB cuz I was gonna order it till I found the new gtx 260.

I could not find any real benchmarks for the GTX 260 w/216 cores vs. 4870 1GB.

I did find a normal GTX 260 vs. 4870 w/512 MB and it was a toss up. The GTX 260 wins some and the 4870 wins some.

Here is a few head to head competitions I did find. You'll just have to figure price:performance ratio when it comes to this choice. I might buy myself a GTX 260 w/216 cores for Christmas:)

I don't really know much about ATI or what companies are better that use their chipset, but here is an over clocked Diamond for $260 after rebate.

The GTX 260 w/216 cores are going for about $300 right now, the normal GTX 260 is going for about $240.

That's a tough choice......

I would go for the GTX 260....that's only because I like Nvidia:)

Depends on the price at the end. Also consider what Mobo you have got as well.
But I think GTX 260 will be cooler than 4870...

I saw some reviews (hardware canucks has one)

just google and youll find it...

Personally, I would Go for the ATI, simply cause you can crossfire on an intel chipset motherboard, and it chews less power (much less than the GTX core 216)

If you can find the GTX for $40 less, and you are only looking for a single card (no SLI or Crossfire) then get the GTX...

If you cant, ATI is the way to go...
