GTX 280 and SLI

Hopefully some one will have a logical explanation to this. Basically I was looking at getting a 26" LCD monitor for my build to play games at highest quality settings and when I looked at benchmarks for GTX 280, it held it's own but games like Crisis at max detail on 1900x1200 it pushed around 26fps. So I thought well no problem I'll just reach out deep in to my pocket and see if I can pull another $500 out of there to satisfy my hunger for max detail and smooth game play. After doing some research and seeing some benchmarks on GTX 280 SLI it wasn't like 1+1=1.5 it was more like 1+1=1.15 at the most and it some cases it performed wost that a single GTX 280. I am I missing something here???
If anyone can explain this to me that would be great.

Once you finish crysis thats about it, its not the best game. To your question i think it has to do with a number of things including drivers and other computer parts like the cpu. You need a really high end cpu to take advantage of having gtx 280 in sli, probably just a bottle neck in some parts of the computer.

you would see a difference on 30 inch moniters i think, but if your going to do folding and other things, you will see a differance

look at just a noob go with his crysis killer lol i like it :)

i used to have a pooter like that with same amount of ram but 32mb graphics card mine would have owned yours lol

off topic sorry
