Alright has anyone else had any issues with nvidia cards in x64 versions of windows. No matter what driver i install, or even do a fresh install of windows while browsing the net in firefox my screen will go black come back and it says that my nvidia driver stopped responding but has recovered. I have checked out many threads and websites people having the same issue with brand new cards some say it is an issue with the 400 series gpus. Anyhow im just wondering what you guys think because i have no issues in games or anything and im thinking about selling it to pick up an ati/amd card.

is the card overclocked at all?

On windows Vista 64 bit, I had issues with my Quadro 135m crashing like that. I had to underclock it to 350MHz to stabilize it. I think the stock speed is in the area of 450MHz or something. Never had an issue with XP or 2000 with the card being overclocked.

nope completely stock, my 8800gts use to do it also i mean i can play games for hours on end no problems, but sometimes when browsing the web it does it.

Yes, ive tried fresh installs of windows, multiple versions of drivers like i said i know the card works its fine in game and most other times just when browsing sometimes

What Power Supply Unit do you have?

Are you running them at stock voltage?

What temperatures do the idle and load at?

Download MSI afterburner, install it and run it. Go to settings, enable voltage control and set it to 1000mV (e.g. 1V). Tell AB to 'apply overclocking on windows start' these and press apply. Ensure AB starts with Windows.
