Hello , i have a question my power unit is a plexgear 500Watt, my question is if i can go with gtx 550 ti sli , my specs is i5 2500k, ASUS p8z68-vpro 8 gb 1600 mhz ram hyperx , and ofc gigabyte gtx 550 ti

I myself have not heard of the brand, I would upgrade to a Antec/Corsair/OCZ 600W supply. Though in addition id wait till about august and just buy a single gtx660 if i was in the market for mid range power.

Why is that?

I think Plexgear is a Swedish company owned by one of our largest hardware distributors. Reviews and info I find says they aren't all that bad compared to major brands.

Yes, they are a swedish company , i live in sweden, so , but ye, the question is if i can put 1 more gtx 550 ti ^^

the video card consumes the most power in your system, and at peak today a video card can use upwards of 300 watts, so I wouldn't risk it.

The real question here I think should be:

Is it really worth it to buy another 550? I mean, I think the money could be spent better elsewhere. Perhaps spend that money on a top notch PSU so later you can get a real GPU :D

I dont think there is any single GPU that will use 300W. The 680 only uses 190~W and the 7970 claims just over 200W

older cards are power monsters, going by anandtech, a 470 system will top 400 but that is wall output not the gpu itself, but the gpu would be at least 300 of that since the cpu and all aren't used much.

No. You need a better ps for that.
And to show you why, you can list the specs or take a pic of the label and post them.

Also factor in the efficiency of the power supply. If it is pulling 400w from the wall, its likely only putting out 300W to the system.

So which graphic card would u guys recommend for me in the future , i play lot's of games im a real gamer bf3, and gta iv that kind of stuff wow , mw3....

really, a GTX560ti or above, or HD 6950 or above will be what to look for. That's for BF3. MW3, you can max with a 6670 probably. I know I max it at 1200p on a 7900m GTX.
