I purchased the gtx 770 and it does great performance on bf3 on ultra. However, I want to play ultra on bf4 and im not sure whether or not i should pay a return fee of 60 dollar and buy 2 gtx 760's. I want to make this computer future proof what should i do.

BF4 system requirements have yet to be released but, since it's running on the same game engine, expect similar requirements. If I were you, I would wait for a good sale, then get another 770.

GTX770 should be fine. I would not go for 2x gtx760.

Sadly, that's technology for you :P I bought a GTX 670 FTW edition before which runs everything ever so smooth... let alone GTX 770!

You can only future-proof yourself to a certain extent. Heck, even my new Radeon 7990 will go to the mid-range GPU within the next few years :P

Stick with your 770 for now (it's an awesome card after all) and then get another one if you need to. Best to stick to having one powerful card than two weaker ones.

This ^^.

I don't think SLI is really a good idea unless you're going for pure benchmark scores with the highest end stuff, upgrading by adding a second card (although selling old card and upgrading is normally better), or you got them for super cheap.

In almost all cases one more powerful card will be better than two less powerful ones.

Yup. Drivers tend to be more stable with one card, games sometimes run better (due to drivers), less power consumption, less heat, cheaper to buy usually, less space used up in your case. The benefits go on. ;)

The whole 1 card is better than 2 is old school thinking.

SLI particularly scales at almost 100% so 2 x GTX560s/GTX570s will own a single GTX580 and for newer cards its better.

Don't waste your $60 though, simply buy another 770 if and when your computer cannot play BF4 at ultra. You may find a single 770 will do it on 1080p.

No, it is not. BF 3 are frostbite 2 and BF 4 are frostbite 3.
