Ive been doing alot of reading/surfing the web to see what cards the gtx400 series matches against.depending on the game either one can win.what are yall thoughts on this matter?

gtx450=5750, 50/50
gtx460(1GB)=5850, 50/50
gtx465=5830, 50/50
gtx470=5870, 5870 wins 65% of the time.
gtx480=5970, 5970 wins 75% of the time.

that is sort of right for performance (a 5850 tips out a 460 1GB in almost every situation, only in a few places will the 460 keep up with the 5850), however the 480 should be compared to the 5870, 470 to the 5850, 460 and 465 to the 5830 and the 450 to the 5750/5770. The 5970 is sort of on its own as nVidia don't have a dual GPU card. For performance when compared like that, nVidia near almost wins, or they are tied

But for power consumption at load/idle, price and heat, ATi tips it just about every time, with the exception of heat and power on the 460, and price on the 5970

your right on the,"(a 5850 tips out a 460 1GB in almost every situation, only in a few places will the 460 keep up with the 5850)". but theres no situation where the 5850 tips nor beats the gtx470 in any review. thats why i put the 460 vs 5850, thats more of a match.the 465 losses to the 460 in almost all the reviews ive seen, but matches great aginast the 5830. the gtx470 loses to the 5870 in 65% of the time but is a closer match than 5870 vs 480, cause the 480 beats the 5870 in every review ive seen.i tired to keep the cards in a situation where either one could pull ahead.thats why i put the 480 vs 5970 because the 480 does pull ahead in some case but the 5970 still wins 75% of the time.

PS i cant wait till Nvidia comes out with there dual GPU card, its going to be a beast.

Your under estimating the 5850 vs. GTX 470 and giving the GTX 460 to much credit if not overclocked. The 5830 is a 50/50 card, does really well in some benchmarks and falls on its face in others. Hard to compare it to any card, but its not worth around 200 bucks for sure.
