two 6870s will blow two 470s out of the water, they scale better, are cheaper, run cooler, use less power and represent better value

2 6870's will be better most of the time, but when you factor in physx and higher tesselation, Nvidia takes the lead easily. However, as it stands right now, Physx is in relatively few games, and that will stay the same it would appear, but if OP plays games which utilise it, it would be a major deciding factor. Tesselation also, at the moment, isn't heavily used by game developers, but with both major GPU manufacturers concentrating on it, that is set to change I would think within the next year or 2.

@OP, why go for SLI/CF, a single GTX580 would be the best option, or if you want to go AMD, a single HD6950. Both will use less power, give awesome performance, produce less heat, use less space and cause less issues. You are talking $20 extra for the 580, or only $300 for the 5950

I just realised your prob with amazon international shipping.

I have had this problem, i built my upcoming comp using amazon.com because i was using mturk to get gift certs that could only be redeemed on amazon.com, so i understand what your going through, i also know a bit more about amazon.

all i can say to you op is wait a little bit for the 580/69xx to be out longer and they will appear on amazon.com international

when i choose my mobo and ram, luckily a nice asus came up the day i ordered, i had only a few mobos to choose from and like 21 choices of ram, i checked a week later and they changed what was allowed to be sold internationally and i had literally hundreds of choices. They change there international shipping rules all the time, they just changed the options for postage.
I really must stress this, as you say it cost 30% more in spain than in the usa, buying on amazon does not stop this as they add taxes and import fee deposits at the checkout which means it will cost pretty much the same after shipping as it will in spain

Out of those two and for purposes of multi-card setups, i'd go with the 6870's due to better speed and scaling. The 470 has some graphic accelerators and better drivers though, but consumes more power. If it was me, i'd wait for 6990's to come out.
