Hacker trouble?

Hi all,
I use Internet by smartphone and a 3G wi-fi router. It worked perfectly fine for a month. Three days ago I had some word with a strange fellow on a chat. Since the day later, and several times a day, connection is lost for some seconds, returning to normal by itself. This never happened before. No other strange thing is there ongoing on my device (visibly). Can it be that person? What could he be doing, and seeing/coming to know? What should I do to make him lose my traces? Change device? Change device and router? Router is basic product: it has no problems log nor auto-diagnosis or things like that. Should I check some thing by some program? Help.

If the router supports SPI ( stateful packet inspection ) he shouldn't be able to get through. Perhaps you have a rouge app?

When you say you heard from a strange fellow on chat, are you referring to text message, facebook, or some other chat application? I would start off by changing your routers wireless password.
