...when is the damn thing coming out, i really need to know what happends, all this waiting is killing me :mad::mad::mad:
 
They can take all the time they want.

Id rather wait 3 years per title then get a horribly buggy and crappy gameplay title from EA every 3 weeks.

valve releases quality titles that keep you occupied while you wait for the new stuff. EA prefers to shit out a new game every 2 weeks
 
+2 They can take as long as they need the half-life series is one don't I want to see messed up.
 
Valve in all honors,.. but they really havn't got the point of episodic games, have they?
Its supposed to be shorter games with shorter waiting times in between. now.. they have the shorter game part down pretty well.. but the time between the games is the same as that of a normal game. (ofc I want a good game, but either make it a good long game if you're going to take this long to make it.. or make it a good short game and dont take so long to make it! )
 
Well its good to see the Valve love and patients :)


I agree Archangel but Valve has a lot going on and they are not as big as EA so they take their time.
They treat games like a women....prefer to warm them up before rocking their world :)
 
I like the way valve does things, they actually release games (unike blizzard) but actually release quality games unlikely a couple of EA's studios.

I'm looking forward to GDC 2009, lets see if valve makes a move then...

Oh right. Well to be fair to em they spend a ridiculous amount of time developing and writing etc. You can tell this because they have brought out a few expansions in that time and are only just about to bring out sc2 and diablo 3 and they only actually have 3 major games, those 2 and warcraft, a fair amount of thought gone into each game. I think it is too long between games, but the end result when they do release a new one is stunning

from my perspective it looks like blizzard isn't really try that hard. There making tons of money of WoW and I don't think they feel they need to make a game for another couple of years

Just like Blizzard, they take ages to release games but so far they all have been EXCELLENT ;)

BTW, liking HL2 so far (yes, JUST started playing it)
 
don't get me wrong here, I'm glad they're taking their time to make the game good. but episode 2 was way too short really.. :( (especially considering the time we had to wait for it. ) hope Episode 3 is going to be a bit longer.. I do really like the story so far tough, really looking forward to get to know what happened to that boat.
 
part of the half life series that I enjoy most is the wait to be honest, I get to rack my brain on whats going to happen next, a play around with nude and sweaty alyx skins :)
