Half life 2 graphic bugs?

My 7800GT can play half life 2 great, the only problem being that there are some bugs. I'm not sure if its my graphic card or if everyone has these bugs.

First off, even with AF set to 16X, I still get textures that are all wierd.

Whenever I turn on my flashlight blood gets darker

And also shadows are projected through walls....

So, is all this stuff just happening to me or is it happening to other people too.

Also how do I turn on transperency AA?

ive noticed that before, i accepted it as normal long ago, the only problem i get with half life 2 is the odd flash of green in certain levels

if its a monitor problem how come you can take a screenshot of it?
its an optical problem with the representation of detail at distance

lmao, i was being sarcastic, i realize im wrong about the monitor problem.

DAMNIT, why is it always the obvious stuff that i miss!? like the screenshot thing ...

Well I have an old crappy dell LCD from when they were just starting to be popular... so... I dunno. I can only run on 1024 x 768, so maybe higher res will solve the problem. But does anybody else have shadows going through walls? How bout the wierd blood?

Actualy it could be a monitor problem, because its taking a picture of what its drawing, not what it meant to draw. I think...

I never had a problem with shadows through walls, and i dont think i had anything like that with blood.

Your actually taking a picture of what its suppose to draw, otherwise if you took a screen shot with your monitor off, then it would be black.

What about visual tearing?? I've had something like that happen to me in Doom 3, when I look at a wall and move up and down the pattern on the wall like moves with it, its really hard to explain I'll try and get a screen of it.

But, in Halo it says if you turn v-sync off then visual tearing may occur (turning v-sync off is when the framerate can go higher than the refresh rate on the monitor). I think that might have something to do with it. In the HL2 options menu, it says an option to "wait for vsync" try turning it on and see what happens. This means your FPS wont go higher than your refresh rate (like 85hz, then the FPS wont go above 85). I think that might be the issue here.

All I know is Mine does the same thing on that wall. Although it's not nearly as bad and that is with no antialiasing.

Ok, I cant get it to show in a screenshot- I'll try again but I swear it happens, just a kind of blur running up the screen. Blue knows what I'm talking about, but that visual tearing is what I suspect does it. If anny one has a good shot of what I'm talking about post it.

BTW Blue- Does it do the same in Quake 4?? Maybe its an engine issue.

Oh sorry my bad, I'm confused. What I meant was in Half life 2 mine looks like the screen shot posted by 34erd.

But yea I know what your talking about with visual tearing and yes Doom 3 and Quake 4 both do that on my system with Vsync turned off. Although they are the same engine I felt it was worse with doom3.
