Half life 2 Question

I havn't finished the game yet in HL2 but i've been playing it,definitely buy it even if its not very long(cuz i wouldn't know) its still very good and great,plus you get CS:s with it i believe which is always good.
 
You also get Counter strike with it?

Thats cool.
I was actualy gonna get CS aswell but if you get it with it then thats great.

Cant wait to play the full version:D

That isnt high, unless you resized the pic you were running it on 800x600, lol.... not exactly high, you want 1024x768 at very least

Not obscenely long, i completed HL2 in around3-4 days, probably about 24 hours if you count up the exact time spent playing. I know of hard core gamers finished it in about 9hours, thats crazy.

Not natively, no, but if you get HL2:DeathMatch then yes it does, there are also mods you can download such as "SourceForts" and "Garys Mod", google them for more info

Where abouts are you in game, from that screenshot i know you are about 5 mins into ravenholme, following the invasion of the combine on black mesa east just up the river. Lol, i like HL2, its a great game.

Yeah i was running it in 1024x768.

Stupid Photobucket keeps resizing all my images :(

I didnt know it HL2 was that good.
And how the graphics have got so much better from when i played the first Ps2 version.

Worth every penny, you wont regret it, and the Episodic releases are great too, episode 1 is fantastic, i cant wait for episode 2 (the only date given was Q4 of 2006, so imguessing it will be around october novemeber time so its out ready for xmas '06) to get out. God i love it

Same Version i've got, and yeh, Half Life Source is just the original half life rebuilt on the source engine. Makes the graphics a bit better but things like physics calcs and in gme effects a lot better aswell.

Black Mesa: Source will be much better. Many fanboys like myself were hugely disappointed at HL: Source.

I love HL2! It has everything!

Fighting, Zombies, ALYX (oh yeah!) and my favourite part of all.. In Ravenholm, playing it with no lights on totally dark, you just have to "Save Game" and quit ;P

Yeh, mainly because they rushed the release, half/most of the textures are still original from FL1, so it looks pretty crap, it just plays a lot nicer

Lol, It was pretty scary in a strange way. I had a habit of staying up after everyone else went to bed and playing it on my TV. This is where i route the audio through my DVD player and out through the 5.1 surround. Not a good idea, especially those really fast zombies that climb up the buildings after you, they scream from a long way off and it was always the rear speakers that picked it up, quite scary.

Oh and fantasizing over alyx is not a good thing man. Im pretty sure she was created to inspire the gamers in that way, but lets not take it literally, she is a bunch of textures over a wire frame model, remeber that.... She doesnt exist...

The mines (just after ravenholme cemetry) were quite scary, mainly because for quite a while i was stuck, i couldnt figure out where to go, then realised there was a gap at the top of that fence.... DOH!!! So i spent like 30mins in the dark mine entrances with all the head crabs and such, not great, lost a lot of ammo in there...

I don't.. "pleasure" myself over Alyx, I just find a female character a very, very nice touch.

Yeah, those fast zombies on 5.1 is just FREAKY. When you hear those calls you really go, "oh no.. oh no.. oh no.. OH CRAP!"

Yup, it was really scary, you hear it behind you cos if the 5.1, so you slam the mouse round, then it jumps on you from behind, quick shif weapons to shotgun, blam, miss, aaah crap, no, blam, dead, phew, but when you hear the drain pipes rattle when they are real close, thats the scary bit....there are like 6 drain pipes, so you back against the wall, and get ready for reflexes like a cat..... i have tos ay reavenholme is probably my favorite area of HL2, if indeed the scariest.

And i see what you mean about alyx, in HL2:EP1 she is even better, aparently in episode 2 she plays an EVEN BIGER PART than in episode 1, which i eagerly await, playing the game with here iwthyou and actually helping was great in episode 1....

anyway, sorry for hijacking thos poor guys thread, ill stop now.
