Halo 3 Maps Question

Hi guys, i have Halo ODST for the xbox 360 which i am borrowing of my friend and theres two discs there, one including campaign and one including Halo 3 myphic maps/legendary.
My question is:

Is there anyway of saving the maps to my hard drive and still have the legendary maps and still be able to play with them maps when my friend has his 2 discs back and then i only have my Halo 3 disc (not map disc tho)?

Negative, only way to save them like that would be to download them from Marketplace, you could save the whole disc to the hdd but you would still need the disc to play since it verifies from the disc before loading from the hdd. Tip: dont save Halo 3 online disc to your hard drive, the load times for maps and games takes longer. That came from bungie
