Halo Multiplayer Issue

Ok, just installed Halo on my new PC and I go to play some multiplayer action, and I hit the "update server list" thing and I get like 100 or so servers. Now, when I do that, I get no more than 18 servers. I have checked the filter and that is not the problem.... what could cause this?? It started after I booted halo in "safe mode" after it crashed.... I'll try uninstalling it, but I dont know... :(
 
did you run the update program? go into the halo game folder and run "halo update", i know it fixed my problems before, if that doesnt work, then i would check to make sure that you dont have a firewall enabled that could be interfearing with it.
 
Ok, my game is up to date and I have my firewall allowing Halo to access the internet...... still doesnt work right...
 
hmmm, your not talking about Halo CE are you? i would try un-installing and re-installing and see if it does anything.
 
np, and do you have any problems starting up the game when you first install it? it tells me that i dont have directdraw enabled, but in dxdiag it shows that it is. But once i update it works.
