hanging at splash screen..

I just put together the computer in my signature a day ago.

Few things:

1. About every other time I restart my computer, it will hang (or freeze up) at the "LanParty" splash screen. When I hit the restart button on the front of my computer, it will load up just fine. So, it won't do it consecutively. Just once, then it'll reboot fine. Any ideas about that?

2. I installed the video card on the second PCI express slot, not the first. Is there a problem with that? I did it this way because the card is so freakin big, it would cover up the chipset fan if I put it in the first PCI-e slot.

3. This computer is fast.

(I guess I'm not entirely sure if the motherboard is the problem, so I didn't exactly know where to put this thread...)
thanks for your suggestions

Have you changed the jumper config inbetween the PCI-E slots so the second slot is getting the 16x bus ??, if not i recommend that you change it (refer to the mobo manual)!

Mine does that also. DFI boards are infamous for being buggy. If it bothers you alot try flashing to a new BIOS. Also wait, it does eventualy boot up even when it seems to hang.

No need to have done that, but its fine. Just make sure you set the bottom slot to 16 lanes like ghostface said.

Lol, congrats on your new comp :P

I'm not entirely sure what you guys mean about the jumper configuration. In the mobo manual, it says that there are two possible positions for the jumpers in between the PCI-E slots (one position for SLI, and another position for single card). I left these jumpers completely alone since I am not running SLI.

Am I missing something? Am I looking at the right jumpers?

Thank you
