Hanging

Hi,
Sorry if I've posted in the wrong 'section', but I can't seem to find one that fits in with the problem I'd appreciate assistance with.
It's just that my computer, running XP Home, has begun to 'hang' at every opportunity. Programmes are taking an awful long time to open and I can't figure out why. I just wondered if this was a common problem easily solved?
Many thanks.

looks like you're using up your RAM. First, try not to have many programs running at once. This will slow you down. If the problem stays, run whatever anti-virus software you have. (If you don't have any, search Google for Panda Activescan)

Then, download this: http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE...045910.html?part=dl-ad-aware&subj=dl&tag=top5
Run a full system scan, it will check for spyware/adware. Delete all red items. They are illegal programs running inside your computer, spying on you and taking up your memory.
If you find a lot of things using Ad-Aware, download Microsoft Anti-Spyware here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...a2-6a57-4c57-a8bd-dbf62eda9671&displaylang=en

See how it goes.
