I just bought the Hannspree 28" (which is basically Best buy's version of the Hanns G 28" except the Hannspree has 2 HDMI connections ,Updated Vista drivers and I think an adjustable height base)I decided to get the BB version due to it being on sale and although I have to pay sales tax I dont have to worry about an immediate RMA due to taking it over to the geek squad to have a look at it before I took it home only to find out if it had problems. The tech was very nice and checked it out even without me taking it home first :).

Plugged it up everything looked good, colors,no dead pixels, very very bright though .LOL.Well I took it home and plugged it up to my comp.I turned down the brightness(to 10) and began playing with some adjustments.I noticed it kind of makes my eyes hurt a little bit.I came from a 22 " viewsonic at 1680 X 1050 could it be just my eyes arent used to the 1920 X 1200 setting yet? I changed the DPI to 120 and that seemed to help some. Could it be the distance I have it setting from me(I have it 2 feet from my chair right now).Sorry this is so winded.;)

it's pretty normal that eyes get a little sore with bigger screens, only because your eyes now have to process so much more light coming in. i would say 2 feet is a little close for a monitor that size, and it's probably best to have a light on in the room so that the light your eyes are focusing on isn't coming from just one very bright source.

Ok thanks Ill try moving it back a little bit more and see if that helps.I usually play games and surf the net in a dark room but I will try that to.Eventually Do you ever get completely used to it ? I love the size it should make my game much better

yeah you'll get used to it, just as you get used to the light a movie theater screen projects or like your eyes get used to the sun after you've been exposed to it for a few minutes. but lcd's do give off a lot of light. you can probably help this strain by turning your constrast and brightness down 50% from the max as well. it will appear dark at first since your eyes are used to a brighter picture, but you will get used to it. the less light essentially the better for your eyes. just think about the brightest lights - like the sun or even a light on a welder - are very bad for your eyes.
