Hard Disk Blues

Hello all

I have a 40 mb internal hard disk which used to be drive C of my previous computer which blew up!!.

I know have a new computer but still wish to use this old hard disk as it has a lot of important data on it.

I can't simply open up the new computer and install it as I already have two hard disks in there and anyway, it would invalidate the warranty.

Is there anyway that I can, using some clever wiring, connect this old drive to the new PC via the usb port. In essence, convert it to an external USB drive?

If anyone knows of any wiring diagrams etc. it would be much appreciated.

since you old pc already spoil why not remove the harddisk and get a harddisk casing and use it as a external hdd that will solve all your problem of tranfering all your data to your new pc and also you can save some disk space in your new pc, is your old pc hd 2.5"?

What Burgerbob showed you is a great alternative(I have a similar device) or just any external enclosure if you plan to use the drive a good bit. They might cost more, but the drive is better protected and portable. Just be sure to get a 3.5" one, not a 2.5". That is unless we're referring to a laptop here :P
