Hard disk space vs. "accessible" space

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum as I'm just getting into the nuts and bolts of understanding my new-to-me (used) desktop and upgrading it.

My question relates to my hard disk drive. The drive is a Samsung Spinpoint SP1203N IDE drive, and is supposed to have 120GB of space on it.

However, when I go to look at the used/free space on my C drive there is only 30GB total space. I went into computer management > disk management to see if there was maybe a partition that wasn't showing up (...don't even know if that's possible...) and there isn't.

Any ideas of why the full 120GB won't appear, and what I can do to find that extra 90GB of space?

Thanks in advance!

Dont know how old this (used) computer is, but quite abit older bios had a 32gb limit without using a overlay program. Knowing what make and model of motherboard this is would help alot.

There is a jumper on the drive that will limit the size of the drive to ~30 GB. I wouldn't be surprised if that option is currently set.

I remember that, been along time. Think on W/D drives you put a jumpers on 2 different set of pins. No for sure what ones you use on a Samsung.
