ok ill try again with another question?
if i ran 2 hard drives does each hard drive need its own power?
plugging internal into an external case: when i plug in the ide cable green light goes on the minute the power gets plugged into the hard drive the light goes off. different hard drive works fine in same case,

I need the pictures off the hard drive.

would the green light on mother board stay lit if mother board was shot?

cannot turn on computer so i tried to just get hd working for my files no luck
please any suggestions

I'm closing your other threads as they are covered here.

Yes each drive needs it's own power. But that doesn't mean they need their own line directly from the PSU. Most PSU cables have 2 molex (those 4x1 connectors, yellow black black red). You can use that 1 cable to power 2 drives by plugging a connector into each one.

What happens when you try to power your computer on? Does it beep at all? Is anything displayed on the screen?

nothing happens no beeps no lights nothing

i tried to hook it up in an external case also and it does not power up
plugging in the ide cable the green light appears once i plug the power into the harddrive the light goes out and nothing happens

Are you sure your power button is working? A bad harddrive shouldn't prevent POSTing. If you are sure the power is OK then you have other failed hardware as well.

What happens when you use the drive in an external drive case on another PC?

when i plug the internal HD into the external case i plug the ide wire in and a green light goes on when i plug in the power (those 4x1 connectors, yellow black black red) the light goes off and nothing happens

I tried a different HD in the external and it works fine
