Hard drive configuration

i have two 80gb 7200rpm hard drives in a raid 0 config, and i have run out of space... I want to add another hard drive for more space, but is there a way to keep my raid for the speed and add another hard drive(looking at 250gb 7200rpm drive) for space? what is the best way to get maximum speed and space? also, is there a way to combine them all together and then partition them? or could i keep all my current files/settings and just add more space?

thanks!
ian

If you have a second controller, either on your motherboard or as an addin card then you can connect the drive to it and still maintain your array. This is probably the best way to go, just move your files (like videos, music and pictures) to the storage drive.

You could but you'd have to recreate your array.

thanks for the advice, but how do i know if i have a second controller? by the way, the motherboard is an Asus p5q-e. thanks, ian

Usually you can tell because the SATA ports are different coloured. Your manual should tell you where each port comes from. Most boards have an added controller so that you have PATA as well.
