Hard drive data loss

I hope this is the correct place for this problem?
I have a seagate 320 gb hard drive on which is stored about 30,000 songs. They are all sorted by artist and then album etc....
I work as a D.J on a small radio station and take my hard drive into the studio. I plug it into their computer and access it via windows explorer. The station uses winamp and so I drag and drop my selected songs into the winamp playlist.
The problem that I have is that is that songs jump into other folders and indeed some songs that I play a lot dissapear all togeather? Am I making a fundamental error or is there a better way of sorting out my playlists?

you should probably make sure that when you're removing the drive you should use the safely remove hardware option that appears in the system tray next to the clock. That way you ensure that the hard drive is ready to be removed.

It'd also be benefitial to run a scan disk of the drive to look for and fix errors
