Hard drive disaster

I am having a lot of hard drive trouble and really need some advice.

My setup is i have a 60gb ssd installed in sata port 1, i have a 2tb storage hdd installed in sata port 2, and dvd drive in sata port 3.

I was checking through some boot discs to see what they were, one of them turned out to paragon rescue kit 11, i did not run the program just let it boot to see what was on disc.

To my horror when my pc rebooted, my D: drive 2tb hdd was gone from drives section, i went into disk management and it is still there and shows ntfs file system.

I went into device manager and right clicked on the drive for info and it shows the drive as master boot record.

I tried a clean windows install, however at the disk install section, i choose custom install so i could do a clean install, but i noticed although the drives are in the correct order on the motherboard.

In the windows install it shows the 2tb as drive partion 0 first partion, and the ssd as drive partion 1

I continued the windows install and it marked ssd an primary, but the 2tb still does not show in the drives section and is still marked as mbr type

desperate for some advice folks, can`t afford to lose all the files on that drive, although most are backed up, just the amount of files would take forever to replace.

No john, i wasn`t trying to assign a drive letter

I had some unmarked dvd discs and was booting them to see what they were, and after booting the paragon rescue 11 boot disk, the d drive was gone from windows and my shortcut to it no longer works

I think the paragon boot has somehow marked the the storage drive and now windows can`t see it

Go into disk management and see if you can assign a drive letter to it. If there isn't a drive letter assigned to it then it won't show up in "computer".

Thanks a million john, that was exactly the problem, i assigned the drive letter and drive came back no problem.

Although i am wondering if the drive is still marked wrong or has a problem as after reinstalling windows i thought it would have assinged a drive letter.

I have posted a shot of my disk management, as you will see it now shows my largd hdd as disk 0, and my main ssd as disk 1.

Also i noticed the storage drive has become marked active

I seem to have got it all sorted apart from one problem.

Everytime i reinstall windows it will not auto allocate a drive letter to my file storage drive, i have to manually allocate a drive letter.

Is there anyway to fix this so windows will auto allocate a drive letter as normal.
