Hard drive disconnecting

I have a 2TB western digital drive that keeps disconnecting then reconnecting. my pc makes that ding noise to signify a device has been disconnected then another ding to siginfy a device has been connected. I have tried a new Sata cable and a new sata port on the motherboard both did not fix the issue so my next guess is that the drive is faulty. Is there a way to know for sure and possibly correct the error that is happening? or is it time to say goodbye to the drive and replace it.

even viewer says the disk has been surprise removed

I would back up your data and replace the disk. Data loss isn't worth it.

Did you try a different power connector?

yeah I have tried another power cable. I am not sure of the issue as it has now stopped happening without me doing anything new to fix it.
