Hard Drive Formatting Issue

I have a Western Digital Caviar SE16 500gb HDD. It's a brand new hard drive (new build) and I installed Windows XP Pro on a 5gb partition. Now said 5gb partition is displayed as the only space on the hard drive, obviously I filled this up quickly, and I need to access the remaining 495gb of space. I assume the solution is fairly simple, however, the question is too awkward for me to successfully 'google' it. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Why in the world did you just give XP 5gbs? Your going to run into issues even if you format the rest of the drive. You can just go into disk management and partition and format the rest of the drive. But you need to merge some of that space on the XP partition or just reinstall and allocate XP more space.

Well, I would think 20gb is a good bet, but that is me. I have a 500gb hd myself. And mine is split into 3 partitions of equal size. Right now c: drive has used about 12gigs and d: is using 25gigs. My system is duel boot. c: has windows 32bit on it. And d: has my windows 64bit on it. and e: is my data drive. Windows 64bit is my main os tho. Thanks to spysweeper, I have go down into 32bit to do a once a week scan.
