Hard Drive Fun Stuffs

Ok Vista has told me my 6 year old 80GB hdd is about to bite the bucket (yeah, Vista will tell you).
Anything I can do to have a little fun with it? I'm going to be taking the magnets out but is there anything else inside that can be useful later on? I'm thinking the disk platters would make a sweet things to put on the bottom of my case (because they are reflective).

Is the HDD motor good for modding something out of it?

Sounds like what I'm doing now lol. I once took a hard drive out. I wanted the disc to fly across the classroom. But it was in a million pieces. lol aww. maybe the motor if you can find a positive and negative and hook it up to a battery. Maybe you can make a redneck fan or something. lol I made one :D

disassemble the platters & remove the 'core', for lack of a better word, & then reassemble & buy a clock kit. The bearings too hard to drill out.
