Hard drive issue

I bought a new Samsung 1.5 TB hard drive. It runs quite and cool and FAST.

Only issue I have with its maximum capacity is only 1.36 TB. I know that with all HD that you loose a little bit but 14 GB seems like a lot to me. Is there any program that can extend the 14gb out some?

I know I am probably being picky but most HD I have bought in the past only lose maybe 4 or 5 GB.

I have never seen a way to get more. You could try doing a format and see if that helps, but I don't know why that would. I think you are just stuck.

thats the actual size of the drive, ratings on the drive differ from the size management gives you...so some is simply lost in translation, but its actually all there

drive makers list 1gb as 1000mb where 1gb is really 1024mb, thus you lose space. so 1.5tb is 1500gb
