i went to micro center to buy a hard drive for my laptop and they told that laptops have a maximum hard drive capacity. i wanna get a 60gig hard drive for it. can you guys tell me if my laptop supports it? compaq evo n610c, 1.8ghz, 30gig, dvd, 512mb. and can someone give me some websites where i can get the hard drive.

I suppose ur laptop will be able to handle atleast a 100gb hdd, but u would have to replace ur 30gig hd with the new one cuz it wouldn't have the room for a secondary hdd(most laptops don't)

you can buy mini ATA to standard ata adaptors; ive seen them on newegg. That way you can connect your notebook drive to your desktop (if you have one).
If you dont have a desktop you can buy a caddy for your old drive and that will let you connect it to a USB port.

buy a 2.5" encloser i got one on ebay for £6.00 brand new including delivery
all you have to do then is put a laptop hdd in it and you will have a external hdd that runs through your usb ports
