I was planning to buy a new laptop since my old one decided to die on me on a regular basis. I have a 500 gb hardrive on my old laptop which i want to transfer into my new machine. I was wondering on doing so, will there be any driver conflicts ,as my old laptop is a Toshiba and my new laptop is a Lenovo.

Should i just go about installing the drivers for lenovo after the switch, or should i uninstall the drivers on my old machine.?

do i?, because the hard drive i am migrating has a completely activated version of windows ultimate . So do i actually have to reinstall windows, if so please advice why?

Yes you have to reinstall windows. That hard drive has a OEM copy of windows which means the OS is linked to that laptop hardware. If you install the old hard drive in the new laptop then windows will not activate. Not only that but 90% of the time there is going to be a problem with drivers.
