Hard drive Missing info

I have a 250 gig hard drive with lots of folders on it. I have 3 folders split alphabetly split a-i j- m n- all that have had about 60 gigs of music in them

Now when I open two out the the three folders it says their empty! I have looked for the contents and can't find it . The property's of the hard drive says it still has about 227 gig on it which is about right But when I add up the folders the remaining gigs come to a be lot less
Where is my info and why does exploerer still say the drive is full. I checked the recycle bill with no luck. I am not looking foward to losing that much music any Ideas?

Have you checked to see if the folders are hidden (tools->folder options->view tab->click show hidden files and folders radio button)

I have checked and I can veiw hidden folders on that drive

Try to do a disk defragmenter and disk error check. Then, do a search for a file that you know you have, but can't find in one of those empty folders... Hopefully the search will turn up your missing files...
