okay,
i ordered a western digital 74GB raptor for my Vigor pc. sometimes tho, when i boot up, the motherboard cant find the hard drive, so i have to change the physical SATA cable, to a different slot on the motherboard so the motherboard can find it. is there anyway i can like auto detect or lock that hard-drive in the CMOS/BIOS so the motherboard doesnt always have to search for it? any suggestions are very appreciated!

Hi Adam,

On boot the BIOS will try to auto-detect any new drives. I have come across this problem before, numerous times. Can i ask the SATA cable you have, how long is it? and also is there any bends in it?

If the SATA cable is longer than necessary or has a kink or bend in it, swap the SATA cable and give that a go.
