Hard Drive Password Problem.

Hmm, XP setup should let you delete the partition all together, then format. Unless your not booting into XP setup. Change the boot order and make sure the CD-Rom drive is at the top in Bios.

And it says specifically "enter hdd password"?

I think you may have found the reason it was on ebay... You may have to purchase another hdd for it.

Did a search on google, have seen some instances of it, and no fixes.
 
It's possible it has been ATA locked. If that's the case it's locked unless you know the master password.
