I am going to be building a new PC here very shortly. For a long time I was quite convinced that I should get the Raptor as my hard drive. I just now started thinking maybe I should go for something different with more space. I started looking at newegg for hard drives other then the raptor and I found this Seagate hard drive and it was first on the list for top sellers. I read about 20 of the reviews and I was convinced maybe I should get this hard drive instead; it is $100 cheaper, holds 100GB more and many of the reviews said it was quiet and really fast.
So my question to you is should I get the Raptor or are there better, cheaper, and higher capacity options out there? Will I really notice the performance increase becuase of the Raptor's high RPM? I remember one guy on another message board was telling me I won’t notice the performance increase on a Raptor and I should go for a higher capacity drive. He also mentioned I should look at Seagates. And are there other hard drives you would recommend other then the Seagate hard drive I listed?
Thanks for any help.
