Hard Drive question

i have a 3100 80gb maxtor external hard drive , now i messed the drive up by trying to use it with a mac laptop. Windows doesn't pick it up now .. nor do i have the software or drivers . How would i be able to get this back in working condition and also would i be able to take it out the casing and put it in a pc ? thanks

alrigiht i answered the can i use it in another pc question myself .

really if theres away i can either try and recover the data on it or wipe it clean and reformat it for use .
