Hello!

My hard drive, MAXTOR, 300 GB has suffered some physical damage. The damage is internal and I really dont know what happened. Can anyone please tell me how to recover the data from the drive? Its kinda important

the only thing i can suggest is to get a hard drive caddy, and put your damaged hard drive in there, and then use firewire to your computer and see if it picks up the drive. if it does then you can try saving your files to your computer.

I'm pretty sure that won't help if it has internal damage and the computer can't detect or read the drive.

Only thing you could do is send it to a recovery company where they will disassemble the drive and copy the data off the platters. It's really expensive though.
