My dads comp is apparently suffereing for hard drive ripples. What the hell are these. Also would you say it is a rip off that he is now getting a new hard drive and is paying about £60 for the HDD, £29.99 for formatting of it, and £29.99 for instilation. He wont do it himself but is this actually an easy job to do.

£30 for formatting  if thats the case i should of made loads of money by now. its a VERY easy thing to do, and if you do get stuck you can always ask on here. and yeah, who told oyu of HD ripples

Wow what an annoying avatar... ripples huh....never heard of that one... To reformat and reinstall a os maybe an hour.. You should do it yourself...

WTF, HD ripples, i think someones sittin at home rubbin their hands together watchin the money pour in. Seriously, formatting and reinstallin OS can take a maximum time of about 2 hours. And it doesnt cost a thing if you've already got the discs.

I like how you post at 5pm, and expect an answer an hour and a half later...
We all live in differnet time zones

that avatars gonna give someone a seizure
damn straight

I think we can say with confidence that hard drive ripples do not exist and your father is being ripped off.

Sorry took so long to reply, and well yer me dad paid the money to get it done, he dont even trust me to bung in a graphics card !!!!!!!. Thing an error on the PC came up and said it, but knowing my dad he got it wrong. He went to B&Q and asked for retrograde paint when my sister said she was painting her walls in a retro style lol. Ohh yeah and it was PC world that did the stuff to the comp.

This thread is a bit old now, i think we've all established that HD ripples do NOT exist and that his dad WAS ripped off.

installation

very ripped off, 30 for installation is such a rip also installing the hd is way easier than formating. to install it takes about 3 mins.
